BOULDER, Colo. - Thanasi Foods' Jim Beam Original Bourbon Soaked Beef Jerky has been named the winner of the 2005 CSP Retailer Choice Best New Product in the category of meat snacks. Additionally, the company's Jim Beam Original Bourbon Soaked Sunflower Seeds were voted runner-up by retailers in the nuts & seeds category.
Now in its second year, CSP Magazine's Retailer Choice Best New Product contest conducts research to determine the year's latest and greatest convenience store products. The winning product in each category is determined by retailers' votes and honors the hottest products that provide a compelling reason to visit convenience stores.

The Jim Beam Original Kentucky Bourbon snacks are soaked in Jim Beam in order to impart the unmistakable flavor of quality bourbon, giving the snacks a slightly sweet and smoky flavor cue. While the world's No. 1 bourbon is a primary flavor component for the product, Jim Beam provides only a flavor element. Much like cooking with wine or beer, there is virtually no remaining alcohol content in the sunflower seeds or jerky.
